Celebrating Over 35 Years of Impact in Lewisham

Since 1986, Lewisham Pensioners Forum (LPF) has been at the heart of the community — standing up for older residents, building connections, and making Lewisham a better place to age with dignity and purpose.

Our Commitment Going Forward

We’re proud of our legacy — but we’re just getting started. As we look to the future, we remain committed to:

  • Giving older people a voice
  • Fighting loneliness and inequality
  • Championing age-friendly communities
  • Creating spaces for joy, expression, and connection

“The Forum has been a lifeline. It’s not just about services — it’s about dignity, friendship, and feeling like you still matter.”

What We've Achieved

Advocacy That Makes a Difference
LPF has consistently represented the views of older residents to local and national decision-makers — influencing policies on housing, health care, digital access, and age-friendly planning.

 Lifelong Learning & Wellbeing Activities
Through our weekly Monday Project, arts sessions, music groups, and healthy walks, we’ve helped hundreds of older residents stay active, creative, and connected.

More of Our Achievements

 Information That Empowers
Our newsletters, forums, and partnerships with groups like Advice Lewisham have helped people navigate everything from benefits and housing to healthcare and bereavement.

Building Community and Belonging
From our popular Lewisham Pensioners’ Day events to local outings and coffee mornings, we’ve built a strong, inclusive community where every older person feels seen and valued.

Fighting Digital Exclusion
We’ve raised awareness about the challenges faced by people without internet access, and continue to push for services that are accessible to all — whether online, by phone, or in person.
